Many arguments have come and gone regarding Jerusalem. Some I've personally heard in the last week are very far-fetched. But as my own question states -- why can Jerusalem be a holy Jewish city? If Bethlehem is understood as a Christian holy city and Mecca/Medina, then why not Jerusalem? Is it always a separte rule for Jews then for non-Jews?
Today I'm told it is an interfaith/international city. Perhaps that's true in some ways but spiritually it is more important to Jews than to other faiths. In folklore is the tale of Mohammed, the Muslim Prophet, scaling the wailing wall (holy to Jews) and flying on a Burqat (spelling may be wrong -- sorry to say) which is half human/half animal, to the heavens to meet with Moses (Jewish) and Jesus (Christian). But other than that, Jerusalem is not even mentioned in Islamic texts at all.
The following explains better than me how Jerusalem is more for Jews than for others. Yet as in ancient times, it is still a center for all. Please read with an open mind.
